CHILDREN WITH MEDICAL HANDICAPS (CMH–formerly known as BCMH) is a federally, state and locally funded program to provide financial assistance to parents of children (birth to age 21) who have a variety of chronic handicapping conditions. More CMH Information from Ohio Department of Health
The Health Department has a program geared toward assisting families with head lice problems and questions. The nurse can provide education and call in prescriptions for children with the medical card. Head checks can also be performed in our office. THE COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PROGRAM provides a variety of services to assist with the identification and control of communicable diseases. Surveillance and follow-up is conducted by public health nurses on all communicable diseases reported to the health department by private physicians and hospitals.
THE CONFIDENTIAL HIV TESTING PROGRAM is unfortunately no longer available in our office at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
HIV/STD testing is available at other local medical offices including but not limited to Family Health Services, Hopewell Health Centers, and Lyons Urgent Care. Contact our office at 740-342-5179 for additional referral information or with any questions.
TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL is provided through surveillance and treatment for active disease as well as preventive treatment. Tuberculosis skin tests are also offered and can be billed through some insurances.
IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM – Immunization services are available at the health department by appointment. You MUST bring a current shot record and medicaid card to each appointment in order to receive vaccinations. Some adult vaccinations are available and can be billed to private insurances.
